Palm Gardens!

Palm Gardens is actually owned by my best friends cousin. They have wing night every Thursday and I usually go and get the honey BBQ wings (SO GOOD), but last night I decided to try a burger! I got the Palm Gardens Burger which consists of fried onions, bacon, American cheese, a bun, and the burger. It was actually really good! The burger wasn't overcooked and the bun was toasted so that it had just the right amount of crisp on the edges. The bacon was literally to die for! Most restaurants either burn it or leave it all floppy which seriously diminishes the quality of the burger. Palm Gardens, on the other hand, cooked it up just right. The buger and fries came to a total of seven measly dollars, and they were most definitely well spent! The only problem with this burger was that I almost got too full to finish it!......almost;)

A&W!!

Yesterday, I went to A&W with some friends and we tried three burgers: the Mozza Burger, the Deluxe Bacon Double Cheeseburger, and the Bacon Double Crunch Burger. The Mozza Burger was by far the favorite of our outing. It had a solid presentation and consisted of bacon, mozzarella cheese, thousand island dressing, tomato, pickles, lettuce, and obviously the bun and patties. There was a bit too much dressing that made the bun somewhat soggy, but was overall a delicious experience.
The Deluxe Bacon Double Cheeseburger was mediocre. There was wayyyyy to much lettuce which made the presentation sloppy. Also, the bacon kept falling out (not sure if this relates to the assembly of the burger or if my friend is just incredibly challenged when it comes to eating). The ingredients were almost the same as the Mozza Burger. This one just had American cheese instead.
So I saved the worst for last...the Bacon Double Crunch Burger. Ugh. It was pretty damn bad. This burger consisted of lettuce, bacon, American cheese, the actual burger, fried onions, and BBQ sauce. This seemed like an interesting combination that had potential to be great...but, alas, it sucked. The BBQ sauce was way to sweet and since the fried onions were placed under the sauce they got soggy and chewy instead of crunchy. This just ruined the burger for me. I took three bites and was done; I would NOT recommend this one to anyone. This makes me sad as I am a BBQ lover from way back.
Overall the prices were reasonable (hello we were at A&W) and the burgers ranged from tasty to awful.

Intro?

So...I'm going to write about burgers (hence the name of this blog). Not quite sure where I'll go first, but my current plan is to try all of the burger options in my immediate area and then complain/rave about them. This is going to include burgers that people make me, not just restaurant burgers. In fact, I'm extremely curious about tofu and chicken burgers. They sound really freaking gross but, hey, maybe they'll rock or something. By the end of this experience I will most likely have gained around 15 pounds and well developed burger palette.
