Baconator!

So I am very sorry to say that the basil burger did not happy last night:"( My schedule just got crazy and my date canceled on me (Braeden **ahem**). BUT! I did stop by Wendy's on my way home to get some burger eating in! The Baconator was, of course, good. It is typical fast food quality, but definitely still enjoyable. The Baconator is reasonably priced considering that it contains enough calories to last you all day. Oh yes, the Baconator is a whopping 970 calories with 63.0 grams of fat. While the burger was tasty, I would only recommend eating it every once in a while because you would get very fat if you had one every day. More burger posts to come!:)

Bourbon Black & Bleu Burger!

My favorite burger of this adventure so far!:) The Bourbon Black and Bleu Burger is topped with blackened seasoning, bourbon caramelized onions, mushrooms & red bell peppers, Jack cheese, bleu cheese crumbles and Applewood smoked bacon. It is served on a toasted bakery bun with smoky mayo. The only negative aspect about of this burger is that the cheese gets pretty messy. I definitely don't recommend this for a first date! In fact, I wouldn't order this burger with your significant other until you're in a long term, committed relationship. The wait would be well worth it though! The bacon and the blackened seasoning come together and give the burger a smokey flavor which paired extremely well with the rich bite of the cheese. This burger also came out a nice medium rare. The price for it is 9.49, which is high. However, it is reasonable because it's a new burger and it is so friggin good! High high high recommendations for the Bourbon Black and Bleu Burger!

COWBOY BURGER!

This is the Cowboy Burger! This burger is topped with crispy onion strings, melted white cheddar cheese and Applewood smoked bacon. It is sserved on a toasted bun with BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles. I was very impressed with this fresh, summery burger! My only complaints are that there was too much BBQ sauce, the bacon was a tad too fatty, and the sauce was sweet. The sweet sauce could be a plus for some people, but personally I like my BBQ sauce more on the tangy/spicy side. The awesome elements of this burger are the super crispy fried onions and the fact that the lettuce/tomato/onions came on the side so you could add them to your own liking. The burger was a delicious medium rare and seasoned just right! This price of this burger (9.29) is a little up there, but worth it considering how much food you actually get!

Big Mac!

DUH. DUH. DUH-NUH!!! The ever famous BIG MAC! Sorry about the dramatics, but the picture looked like it called for them. The Big Mac is "A double layer of sear-sizzled 100% pure beef mingled with special sauce on a sesame seed bun and topped with melty American cheese, crisp lettuce, minced onions and tangy pickles" according to the McDonald's website. In reality, its not all that special. The beef is pressed really thin and usually winds up dry. The "special sauce" is usually over applied and I am still not one for shredded ice burg lettuce. There is also a random burger bun is stuck in the middle...unnecessary calories much? The buger itself has 550 calories, which is actually not so bad for a burger. However, it has 1000mg of sodium! On the bright side it has 1mg of vitamin C...HAH. This is to be expected for a huge fast food chain though.

Jalapeno Cheddar

Jalapeno Cheddar Burger...welp lets just say that this burger did not make my top ten. The jalapenos were bitter and clearly left out to long. The cheese was relatively OK, but the burger was dry so I had a hard time enjoying it. The palm garden burger I had previously was MUCH better. Palm Gardens has three types of stuffed burgers, the jalapeno cheddar being one as well as mushroom/fried onion and bacon/cheddar. Each burger is $7.75, and not all that worth it in my opinion. The palm garden burger was more cheap and tasted better!

Palm Gardens!

Palm Gardens is actually owned by my best friends cousin. They have wing night every Thursday and I usually go and get the honey BBQ wings (SO GOOD), but last night I decided to try a burger! I got the Palm Gardens Burger which consists of fried onions, bacon, American cheese, a bun, and the burger. It was actually really good! The burger wasn't overcooked and the bun was toasted so that it had just the right amount of crisp on the edges. The bacon was literally to die for! Most restaurants either burn it or leave it all floppy which seriously diminishes the quality of the burger. Palm Gardens, on the other hand, cooked it up just right. The buger and fries came to a total of seven measly dollars, and they were most definitely well spent! The only problem with this burger was that I almost got too full to finish it!......almost;)

A&W!!

Yesterday, I went to A&W with some friends and we tried three burgers: the Mozza Burger, the Deluxe Bacon Double Cheeseburger, and the Bacon Double Crunch Burger. The Mozza Burger was by far the favorite of our outing. It had a solid presentation and consisted of bacon, mozzarella cheese, thousand island dressing, tomato, pickles, lettuce, and obviously the bun and patties. There was a bit too much dressing that made the bun somewhat soggy, but was overall a delicious experience.
The Deluxe Bacon Double Cheeseburger was mediocre. There was wayyyyy to much lettuce which made the presentation sloppy. Also, the bacon kept falling out (not sure if this relates to the assembly of the burger or if my friend is just incredibly challenged when it comes to eating). The ingredients were almost the same as the Mozza Burger. This one just had American cheese instead.
So I saved the worst for last...the Bacon Double Crunch Burger. Ugh. It was pretty damn bad. This burger consisted of lettuce, bacon, American cheese, the actual burger, fried onions, and BBQ sauce. This seemed like an interesting combination that had potential to be great...but, alas, it sucked. The BBQ sauce was way to sweet and since the fried onions were placed under the sauce they got soggy and chewy instead of crunchy. This just ruined the burger for me. I took three bites and was done; I would NOT recommend this one to anyone. This makes me sad as I am a BBQ lover from way back.
Overall the prices were reasonable (hello we were at A&W) and the burgers ranged from tasty to awful.

Intro?

So...I'm going to write about burgers (hence the name of this blog). Not quite sure where I'll go first, but my current plan is to try all of the burger options in my immediate area and then complain/rave about them. This is going to include burgers that people make me, not just restaurant burgers. In fact, I'm extremely curious about tofu and chicken burgers. They sound really freaking gross but, hey, maybe they'll rock or something. By the end of this experience I will most likely have gained around 15 pounds and well developed burger palette.
